When we began planning this adventure session in Alaska, Tanya wanted one thing. A glacier in the background. Alaska is the place to do it. We camped for a few nights just steps away from views of this glacier in Alaska’s Inside Passage so it was only fitting that this was the location of our adventure session.
I’ve known Tanya for a few years and Dane came into the picture shortly after Tanya and I met but I didn’t get to meet Dane until after the two were engaged. Dane agreed to join my husband, Tanya, and me on a trip to Alaska. It was either going to be the best way to meet Tanya’s friends or the most awkward way. Right away, we hit it off. Dane has such great respect for Tanya and it shows in all of his actions. Tanya has a love for Dane that is so sweet. They are truly a perfect match for one another.
By the time we made it to our adventure session location, we had spent several ferry rides and vacation days together. Both of them were nervous that they would be so awkward in front of the camera and that the final gallery wouldn’t turn out, but after just a few photos they were comfortable and the session flowed naturally.
It was the most memorable session I’ve had. Tanya wore a beautiful dress under her rain pants and fleece jacket until it was time for photos, Dane slipped off a rock into a glacial lake, and Tanya allowed my husband to convince me to put her ring in that same glacial lake for an epic ring photo.
After viewing the glacier from an overlook and exploring a quiet area of the park, we hiked to a waterfall adjacent to the glacier that was breathtaking.
