Dea and Matt had a perfect engagement session at Amnicon Falls State Park this spring and I am so excited to be telling you all about it in today’s post.

Dea and Matt have a goal that is after my own heart - to visit every Wisconsin State Park. And they’re really close! When I asked Dea what their favorite State Park in Wisconsin was, she told me it was Amnicon Falls State Park and that they were hoping to have their engagement session there. This made my heart so happy because Amnicon Falls State Park is practically in the backyard of my childhood home and I was so excited to take a trip back there to capture the two of them in their element.

The park is home to several bridges that are iconic views within the park nestled along the Amnicon River. It is a small park that is easy to explore in-depth with just a few hours of your day.

The summer and fall seasons at Amnicon Falls State Park can be busy as people take on the circle tour challenge of visiting waterfalls and parks around Lake Superior. If you can make it there on a beautiful spring day, you will likely find just a few visitors and quiet areas to enjoy the sound of the waterfalls.

We scheduled the session for mid-May and I was pretty concerned that the Lake would send us some challenging May weather. I was fully anticipating a 40-degree, windy day. Boy was I wrong. We were graced with 70-degree and sunny weather for their golden hour engagement session.

There were only a few people who were left enjoying the park that evening as we wandered around on this perfect evening. I can’t recall ever being at Amnicon Falls State Park during the evening and it is a refreshing way to see the park covered in the golden tones as the sun sets among the tall pines throughout the park.
