Avery and Matt got married in September at Stonebrooke Golf Club. It was a beautiful day during Labor Day weekend and it was fun to return after having been there just a few weeks earlier for another wedding. Avery is a very careful planner and the details were perfectly selected for her day. I spent the entire first part of the day gushing over the art deco-inspired jewelry that she selected for her wedding day look.
Avery and Matt opted for the most traditional kind of first look - the kind where Matt waits to see Avery for the first time until she’s walking down the aisle. Before the ceremony, we worked hard to help things go smoothly, keeping Matt in different parts of the venue. What we weren’t able to do was ensure that none of Avery’s guests would arrive early. We finished photos with her bridesmaids just as people started to get seated for the ceremony and the result was one of the most memorable moments of my wedding season. Avery’s bridesmaids sprung into action and made a fortress around her as they shuffled their feet past the ceremony location.
Avery and Matt had their ceremony in front of the iconic Stonebrook water features. Avery’s brother officiated and there were beautiful readings by Avery’s and Matt’s moms. After the ceremony, we moved inside for speeches, dinner, and music. The speeches that were given at this reception were among the best I had heard all year.
Finally, the band began to play and guests wandered around the venue for a while. Matt and Avery had not planned to do a first dance but Matt’s mom convinced them to spend some time on the dance floor and before you knew it, they were the only ones out there. It was a sweet way to end the night with them.
