Kris and Kendra reached out to me in the Spring of 2020 just as COVID was wreaking havoc on the world. I was so happy to be able to work with them on their wedding day at their church in New Richmond, Wisconsin before heading to their reception at LaPointe Events in Somerset, Wisconsin.
When we began discussing their wedding plans, I realized that I drove by their church every day for a year. And every day, I thought, “I hope I get to photograph a wedding at this adorable church someday.” I was so pumped to make it a reality.
Kendra and Kris did a private first look and invited me to join them afterward for some photos inside the church. I loved being able to get creative in the space that is so special to the two of them. After their time together, we had time for family photos. Family is so important to Kendra and Kris that they made it a priority to have photos with their family before their wedding. They even had a photo with all of their nieces and nephews outside of their church with plans to document how that group grows over the years. They kept their ceremony small due to COVID but were greeted by guests outside of the church following their ceremony.
La Pointe Events is located in Somerset, Wisconsin and was a great place for a wedding reception. There are large garage doors that open for the feeling of being outside but the option to close them if the weather is questionable. Kendra, Kris, and their guests mingled inside and outside of the venue for hours, many of them likely being at a large event for the first time since COVID had hit in the spring.
Kendra and Kris demonstrated just how important it is to focus on the things that are meaningful to you as a couple when it comes to your wedding day.
