In May, I packed up my photography gear and my husband and we drove to Ellsworth, Wisconsin to photograph Morgen and Monty’s wedding at The Barn at Jean Acres.
These two met when they were attending college in the Twin Cities and both moved to Iowa shortly after graduating. They spent the last two years planning their wedding and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. Morgen’s attention to detail at every step of the way was evident on their wedding day. From the floral arrangements to the doors that created a dramatic entrance as Morgen walked down the aisle, everything was perfect.
We arrived as Morgen was getting ready and met Monty as we explored the venue. I could tell he was excited to see Morgen and I knew that her grand entrance would be such a special moment for the two of them. Morgen shared first looks with everyone but Monty leading up to the wedding. Instead, the pair did a first touch where they exchanged gifts.
When the time came for Morgen to walk down the aisle, Monty was instantly in tears as he watched her approach the archway. Everything about the ceremony was precious and I can assure you, there was not a single dry eye that witnessed the wedding. Their vows to each other were so thoughtful and intentional.
Each person who was invited to give a speech at the wedding followed the lead of Morgen and Monty and just like their ceremony, you would be hard-pressed to find a dry eye at the reception. Monty even momentarily lost his contact during the speeches.
After exploring the venue with Morgen and Monty for golden hour, we returned to the barn for the most lively first dance I have ever witnessed. Their dance was so in line with their personalities and it was clear they were having so much fun together on the dance floor.
We packed up for the night with the biggest smiles on our faces anxious to look through the thousands of amazing photos we took of Morgen and Monty’s wedding day.
